The Wedding Present

Darren and I went down to The Wedding Present today. We had an appointment with Dennes and also Patrick, the chief designer for TWP.

So far Dennes went through with us and Patrick the entire package. All freebies that was thrown in will be honoured by TWP. However if we wish to change our gowns, it could only be done amongst Dennes collection. Patrick has not workd out the details, however if we see something we like from TWP, we would probably need to pay a top up sum. Hmmm.. I pray hard hard I don’t see a lot of nice things there. LOL.

The whole episode has been a very smooth one, punctuated with a sense of helplessness and amongst D’sire’s brides, there is a cloud of deceit hovering around D’sire’s name. Many felt that Dennes was not upfront about the whole matter, even though some claim to have seen pple come to buy furnitures etc. But from a businessman’s point of view, I don’t think it will help matters if he announced it earlier.

I’m grateful that Dennes go thru the trouble to arrange the whole transfering of packages to TWP. This is something I really did not expect him to do. I mean after reading about boutiques going MIA suddenly, this is a really kind and responsible gesture. Although through it all, Darren and I can’t help but feel ‘we have no choice’.

Some friends and family members suggested a refund. But after speaking to Dennes, we can imagine that is close to impossible. So since the plan for us seems workable, we decided to go along with it.

Patrick seems like a nice guy. The way he speaks reminds me of Fred – my close friend. He will be sending us an appointment card to tell us what to expect at which date. Seems like a good start already huh!

So we will look forward to our first fitting and see how things goes!
