Wardrobe by Closet Design

4th October 2008

Some time back, Darren and I decided to engage Closet Design for our wardrobe. We went to their showroom and felt that their wardrobes really looked great! :)

They cost significantly higher than a regular carpenter. While a carpentar charge approximately $240 to $250 per foot run, Closet Design charges approximately $290 per foot. But I think while they charge a little higher, their design tend to free up more space above and below the wardrobe allowing better utilization of space behind the doors. Their doors are really cool too! Very heavy duty glass door with a catch to prevent the door from bouncing back if we ’slam’ the door too hard.

The installation was done in four parts.

1) Their guy came to our to take me home to take measurements, advise us how many foot it is in total and how much it will cost.

2) We went down to the showroom to pick and choose the layout, colour and what nots.

3) The guys will come down to put up the partition for the wardrobe and take a final measurement for the fabrication of the cupboard layout.

4) They come down and put everything up within a day!

They are very efficient and I must say very pleasant to work with. There were two guys who came down today for the installation – one Chinese national and another Malaysian national. I would say I am pretty impressed because they are really very hardworking.

Guess what, our door proved to be too big to enter the lift… and this two guys had to carry them from level 1 to level 9! Omg! When Darren and I tried to shift it a little, we realised the door is damn freaking heavy!!:) But well the door came in one piece and everything was put up very very nicely.

Love my wardrobes! :)

Got some pictures of the wardrobes which I really love! :) Both my parents in law and my wardrobe has a built in dressing table with a mirror on the door.

The pictures below is the wardrobe for the master bedroom. It is approximately 8 feet long. I should think this is a very spacious one, and I am already thinking of what I am going to put in there! LOL! :)

The colour combination we chose was: Dark brown and transparent brown for the middle panel.

p/s: The sliding door next to the wardrobe is also done by Closet Design. It hangs from the top and there’s no track on the floor, which is what I was looking for. Also a full length mirror when the door closes. How cool is that! ;)

The one below is the wardrobe for my parents in law. It is quite similar in terms of layout. The colour chosen was Frosted Gold and Dark brown.
