Moving In

18th October 2008

Today is the auspicious day to move in. And so we did.

We arrived at Tampines at 10am. The auspicious time was supposed to be between 9am to 11am. Everyone was there, including Astro the dog. He was very excited as it is going to be his new home, and we were mindful that he needs to be trained where to pee first!

So Darren’s aunt prepared a red pot with burning charcoal. We were supposed to step over the fire, I think to “cleanse” ourselves and for a new beginning. Darren stepped in first and rolled the pineapple into the house. Next I went in with a kettle of water, headed to the stove and put it to boil.

Then the rest were much simpler, we just hang around the house and it feels so comfortable. Its different being in the house to supervise the works and as an owner, enjoying it.

Soon after, we went back to Teban Gardens to do the final packing and await the movers to arrive at around 2pm. The movers came at 430pm and all items were shifted in by 730pm. Been a very exhausting day indeed!
