First Entrance into Our New Home

Today we entered the new adobe as its new owner.

It was supposed to be an exciting affair, but I guess it was too early in the morning for me to get excited. Lol! I was a little groggy and it was like a “follow instructions” kinda process for me. Which I sincerely welcomed, since I know nuts bout these traditional customs.

So we arrived with a Huat Kuey (发糕), pineapple, nuts and sweet stuff, some joss sticks, joss papers and some rice grains (uncooked).

Upon reaching, Darren’s mum threw a handful of rice on the door prior to us opening it. This was followed by Darren throwing the pineapple like a bowling ball across the hall and then we entered. We opened all windows and then proceeded with some prayer session.

The customary process was pretty simple and it was done in no time.
